CHENNAI: Fifteen days after his arrest for rash and negligent driving, the Madras high court on Thursday declined to release biker and vlogger T T F Vasan on bail. The vlogger faces eight criminal cases for rash driving in Cuddalore, Himachal Pradesh, Manali, and Soolur.
“It is a lesson for him. Let him continue to be in custody,” said Justice C V Karthikeyan dismissing the bail petition. Referring to the bike stunt Vasan had attemped on September 17, resulting in a fall and endangering the safety of other road-users on the Chennai-Bengaluru national highway, the judge said, “fortunately, the biker alone suffered injury during the incident.”
When the biker’s counsel cited medical reason, the judge said he would be treated in the hospital inside the central prison at Puzhal.
Earlier, opposing the bail plea, government advocate Krishna Kumar submitted that the biker had over 45 lakh followers on social media, and he used to perform dangerous stunts with expensive sports bikes on public roads.
His followers, mostly youngsters, get influenced by his acts and end up driving rashly on public roads causing threat to the public, he added.
Post-fall, Vasan was booked for offences punishable under Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) , Section 279 (rash driving), and Section 337 (causing hurt by endangering act). He was arrested and remanded in judicial custody on September 19.
After a trial court denied bail to the biker, he moved the present application before the high court.
According to the petitioner, he suffered injury and his hand got fractured in the accident and he needed immediate and proper medical attention in a private hospital. Claiming that he is a law-abiding citizen, Vasan’s counsel submitted that the biker was ready to comply with any condition imposed by the court to enlarge him on bail.

Biker crushed under truck
A 47-year-old man in Raipur was killed when his bike collided with a truck. The incident occurred near the Sankra overbridge, when the truck suddenly turned and the biker crashed into it. The truck driver fled the scene, and a VIP convoy passed by without stopping. The police are investigating the incident, and the victim's body has been sent for post-mortem.
