Sanatana Dharma row: BJP wants TN governor to instruct DGP to book Udhayanidhi Stalin
CHENNAI: BJP state unit on Thursday demanded that Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi instruct DGP Shankar Jiwal to file a case against sports minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for his remarks against Sanatana Dharma.
BJP leaders led by party state secretary A Ashwathaman submitted a couple of petitions to the governor at the Raj Bhavan. The petitions were signed by party state president K Annamalai.
In the petition, Annamalai stated that Udhayanidhi's speech was deliberate. "Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin has deliberately disturbed peace and tranquillity in Tamil Nadu and has to be dealt with in the same manner as every citizen of the country. But he is safeguarded by the police from action due to the privilege of being the son of the chief minister of Tamil Nadu."
In another petition, Annamalai demanded that the governor remove HR&CE minister P K Sekar Babu from the cabinet. "As a minister for the administration of Hindu temples, place of practice of Sanatana Dharma, Thiru Sekar Babu has wilfully violated the oath of office by being present in the Sanatana Dharma eradication conference and for being a mute spectator," said Annamalai.
Speaking to reporters outside the Raj Bhavan, Ashwathaman said the governor had assured them that he would send instructions to the DGP to initiate action against Udhayanidhi.
Recently, the BJP gave an ultimatum to Sekar Babu to resign before September 10. Otherwise, the party cadre would gherao the HR and CE offices across the state.

Bharatiya Janata Party members' anger is right, but their approach is unlikely to bear fruit. Governor has prima facie no powers under the Constitution to direct the State police to file a complaint against a State Minister, unless he is personally targetted. Coming back to the issue in hand, the onus lies on the Sanatana Dharma practitioners, including many BJP members, to file a petition in the Court against Udhayanidhi Stalin. They could consider filing the petition seeking action against Udhayanidhi under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with attempted murder. They could point out the fact that Udhayanidhi had made a prepared speech and spoken after earlier speakers equated Hinduism with Sanatana Dharma. They could also point out that Udhayanidhi wanted eradication of Sanatana Dharma, which is followed by over 115 crore of people in the country. Udhayanidhi has considered himself a neo Christian as his wife apparently is a Christian. He has also expressed admiration for Islam. Obviously, Udhayanidhi is on the payrolls of Christian and Islamic hardliners, as this was exactly what his so called mentor E V Ramaswami Naicker, self styled as 'Periyar', was. Reference here is not to the regular practitioners of these religions, who are decent and law abiding. Naicker, who was held in contempt by most people in the state, was bestowed a larger than life image by Udhayanidhi's grandfather M Karunanidhi, in 1970, when Karunanidhi was the CM. This was done for political reasons and Naicker was given false credit for social reforms initiated by others, mostly freedom fighters. Naicker had made a fortune by mocking Hindu beliefs and being a stooge of British in the pre independence days, as it was profitable at that point in time. India's first PM Jawaharlal Nehru described him as a criminal, lunatic and a pervert. Now, eradication of Sanatana Dharma can be done only by three methods. One is converting them to Christianity or Islam. Since even a fraction of Hindus and associated religion followers are unwilling to convert, this option is ruled out. Second is by driving the followers of Sanatana Dharma out of the country, which is again an impossible task. The third is the method followed by the Nazis, viz., extermination. This is the logical inference which anyone with common sense will infer. Since Udhayanidhi's mother Durga Stalin is a devout Hindus, as indeed are his sister and brother-in-law, the question arises as to whether Udhayanidhi is planning on matricide to satisfy his paymasters? Udhayanidhi like Naicker, is oblivious to social inequities which were rampant in Christianity and Islam since ancient times and continues till this day. Political Christianity and Political Islam have been responsible for the extermination of close to a billion human beings. Though their outlook has changed post World War II, some groups continue to cling to the past.Read allPost comment
