CHENNAI: Sandeep Rai Rathore IPS on Friday took charge as Chennai city's 109th police commissioner.
Rathore’s predecessor Shankar Jiwal, who has been appointed as the head of the Tamil Nadu police, handed over the files to him.
Later, addressing reporters, Rathore said, "I thank Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin for giving me an opportunity to serve as the Chennai city police commissioner. I will continue with all the schemes and programmes introduced by my predecessors. This will be my priority. I request all your support."
