CHENNAI: A six-member gang has been arrested in connection with the
murder of a
history-sheeter
, A Dinesh alias Appu of
Perambur
, 28, on Saturday.
The arrested men were identified as C Sathishkumar, 25, of Ayapakkam, K Sasikumar, 23, of Ambattur, Kathir, 24, Gokul, 21, Saravanan, 23, and Monish, 25.
Dinesh was riding his two-wheeler with his wife and child, when the gang intercepted them on Stephenson Road and murdered him.
Police nearby spotted the assailants escaping in two autorickshaws and managed to nab Sathishkumar and Sasikumar.
Investigations revealed that there was a rivalry between Dinesh and the gang over a murder case pending in court. Based on the inputs from the arrested two, police sent a team to Ayapakkam and nabbed the others.
