Chennai: A 16-year-old boy fractured both his legs but survived after a private bus ran over him. He was on his way to a school near Panur in Tiruvallur district on Tuesday morning.
Police said D Keerthivasan is a Class 12 student and was travelling on the footboard of the bus when he slipped and fell down. The Mapedu police have registered a case and are investigating.
Police said, though the conductor had cautioned him and asked him to go inside the bus, Keerthivasan refused to do so. He was holding on to the window of the bus.
Passersby rushed Keerthivasan to Tiruvallur government hospital where he has been admitted and is responding to treatment.
