Switzerland to tie up with TV channels to boost tourism

is planning to hold talks with Indian television channels and production houses to encourage them to shoot soaps in Switzerland.


Switzerland Tourism is looking at television channels in Tamil and Kannada so that people who watch the shows will be encouraged to travel to the country. Ritu Sharma, deputy director and head of marketing,

Tourism, said, "We have an agency which will discuss with the channels and identify which programmes suit the best for the collaboration. The storyline should be urban-oriented so that the story can be taken to Switzerland. This way we enter the homes of people."

She said, "We will hold talks with Sun TV and a few other channels." She said two years ago, Star Plus had shot a few scenes of their show "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" in Switzerland. "We take care of the travel, accommodation and the arrangement for shoots." Switzerland Tourism will enter into a contract with the production houses or channels.
