died on the spot when a car he was travelling in hit a stationary vehicle near Madurai in the early hours of Monday. He was 48.
The singer’s brother, P Thandapani, and the car driver, Thangapandian, who suffered injuries, were rushed to Government Rajaji Hospital here. Both of them suffered fractures on their legs.
Police said the accident took place around 1.30am while they were travelling to Madurai. The accident happened near Vadipatti Electricity Board office.
Thiruvudaiyan, a native of Sankarankovil, used to sing at political party meetings, especially at the meetings conducted by CPM. He had sung a few songs in Tamil movies like “Virumaandi,” “Madha Yaanai Koottam,” and “Mayilu.”
