Tamil Nadu govt announces bonus for employees of cooperative and public sector sugar mills
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government on Friday announced bonus and ex-gratia to the employees of 16 cooperative and two public sector sugar mills.
An official release said that 8.33% bonus and 11.67% ex-gratia would be given to the employees of Kallakurichi-II and Subramania Siva cooperative sugar mills whereas employees of 14 cooperative and two public sector cooperative mills would get 8.33% bonus and 1.67% ex-gratia.
“This move will benefit 6,103 employees. The government will incur an expenditure of Rs 4.15 crore,” the release said.
The government also extended Rs 63.61 crore in the form of advance loan to nine cooperative sugar mills and one public sector sugar mill for salary arrears, working capital required for machinery repair and maintenance.
This comes in the wake of demand from the employees of Ambur, the National, and NPKRR cooperative sugar mills, who have been sent to other mills on deputation due to lack of crushing of cane.
The government also extended assistance to Arignar Anna public sector sugar mill, M R Krishnamoorthy, Salem, Tirupattur, Tiruthani, Vellore and Amaravathi cooperative sugar mills.
