Two children drown in pond near Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu
MADURAI: Two
The deceased have been identified as G Karan, 7, of Sendhamaram village and G Venkatesh, 11, of Duraisamipuram. Karan and Venkatesh were relatives. They were Class II and Class VI students.
Venkatesh had come to his relative’s house recently. Both the children were playing near the house on Sunday evening.
Later, they could not be found there. The family members started searching for them.
On being alerted by some villagers who spotted the children’s dresses on the banks of a small pond, the family members rushed there and began searches. The Sendhamaram
Police and fire and rescue services personnel helped in retrieving the bodies.
