Coimbatore shocker: PG student raped by 3-member gang near airport; boyfriend assaulted
COIMBATORE: A student from a private college near Peelamedu in the city was raped by a three-member gang while she was talking to her friend near Coimbatore International Airport late Sunday night.
According to the police, an post graduate student from a private college in the city was talking to her friend in a car near Coimbatore International Airport on Sunday night around 11 pm.
The gang, who arrived on a two-wheeler, noticed them in the car, assaulted her boyfriend, and kidnapped her. They took her to an isolated place and raped her before abandoning her without clothes.
The injured boyfriend alerted the police, who launched a search and found the girl in an isolated area behind a private college, which is a kilometer away from Coimbatore Airport. She was rescued around 4am in the morning and admitted to a private hospital near Sitra.
"The trio stole a two-wheeler near Kovilpalayam and traveled on Airport Road, where they found the girl and her boyfriend together in a car. Seven special teams have been formed to apprehend the culprits," said a police officer.
The injured youth was admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for treatment.

A man and his two aides abducted and gang-raped a Class 8 girl in Dum Dum while she was returning home from a private coaching class on Saturday evening. Police said the accused, all in their early 20s, reportedly dragged the 14-year-old to a shanty and sexually abused her. All three were arrested and charged under Pocso Act.

It is unfortunate that women have become too bold to stay with their boy friends at odd hours that too in the isolated places. They forget that they are living in the era of free usage of liquors, Ganja and drug. We are not born to change the money hungry people dominated society that we all must remember.
