Free faculty development programme at Amrita

Coimbatore: The Corporate and Industry Relations department of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham at Ettimadai will conduct a free faculty development programme on entrepreneurship from December 10 to 22. The fourth edition of the programme will be sponsored by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) under the department of science and technology.

The programme aims to equip faculty members of technical universities, colleges and polytechnics with skills and knowledge needed for becoming entrepreneurs. This, in turn, will help the teachers guide and motivate students of science and technology to take up entrepreneurship as a career option, said a release from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. While the programme is mainly for faculty members from science and technology backgrounds, this year, it will also accommodate faculty from business schools. It will have modules on role of support agencies in entrepreneurship development, role of DST in promoting entrepreneurship, business opportunity identification and guidance, the need for market survey, preparing business plans and curriculum plans. Industry visits will also be arranged as part of the event.

Twenty-five candidates will be admitted in a first-come-first-serve basis. For registration, visit http://bit.ly/fdpregistration2018. TNN
