Hotel employee found murdered in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: A 35-year-old man who was employed at a hotel in the city, was found murdered in his rented room at Valiyampalayam on Monday morning. Police suspect he was murdered by his roommate, who has been untraceable since the crime came to light. The deceased has been identified as P Raman, 35, of Kullukuli near Keeranatham. He was found stabbed to death with injuries on the left of his chest and on his back. Kovilpalayam police said he was working as a supplier in a hotel run by Manikandan, 40, at Valiyampalayam village near Kovilpalayam in Coimbatore district, for the last ten days. He was residing in the rental room with Shankan, 22, from Thoothukudi district, who has been working as a supplier in the same hotel for more than a month. Manikandan had last seen the duo when around 9pm on Sunday, when he visited them at their room to give 300 in cash to Raman. Around 10.30am on Monday, Manikandan sent his cook Sethupathi to check on the duo as they had not turned up for work. Sethupathi found Raman lying dead in a pool of blood and informed Manikandan, who alerted the police.Since Shankar was missing from the room, police suspect he might have murdered Raman and managed to escape.
