ITI-Perur invites online applications for six courses
COIMBATORE: The Govt Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Perur has invited online applications for admission to six courses for the 2026-27 academic year. The institute caters to the children of Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Board members.
According to principal P Valarmathi, the institute offers six trades -- advanced CNC machining technician, aeronautical structure and equipment fitter, multimedia animation and special effects, in-plant logistics assistant, central air-conditioning plant mechanic, and wireman.
Established in 2025, it offers 176 seats across the six streams.
Applications have been invited from male and female students who have completed Class VIII or Class X. Candidates could apply online through www.skilltraining.tn.gov.in/detitiadm/login. The age limit for male candidates is 14 to 40 years, while female candidates should be at least 14 years old and there is no upper age limit for them.
Since the institute is meant exclusively for the children of Construction Workers Welfare Board members, applicants must produce the board membership card at the time of admission, the principal said.
Valarmathi said the institute began functioning only in August last year and admitted 75 students in its first year. “We expect full admissions this year,” she said. The application fee is Rs50 and could be paid through debit card, credit card, net banking and UPI.
Online registration opened on May 16, and the last date to apply is June 3. The merit list for online counselling would be prepared based on marks and published on the same website after the deadline for applications.
Candidates seeking admission should submit their Class VIII and Class X mark certificates, transfer certificate, community certificate, Aadhaar card, four passport-size photographs, and photocopies of all certificates. They should also produce the original Construction Workers Welfare Board membership card.
The institute is functioning on the Ramalinga Arangam campus (opposite to Perur tahsildar office), Vedapatti Road, behind Canara Bank, Perur, Coimbatore - 641010. Students could also approach ITI help desk for assistance with the application process.
Students admitted to the courses would receive a free laptop, uniform, textbooks, drawing instruments, bicycle, footwear, bus pass and a monthly stipend of Rs750. Those who studied in Tamil medium from Classes VI to X in govt and aided schools would also be eligible for monthly assistance of Rs1,000 under the Pudhumaipen and Tamil Pudhalvan schemes.
