Rely on rational thinking over social media influence: Kanimozhi
Coimbatore: Stating that even AI tools could be wrong, DMK deputy general secretary and MP Kanimozhi said that people should rely on rational thinking over being influenced by social media.Speaking at a self-respect wedding in the city on Wednesday, Kanimozhi said rationalist EVR Periyar's core message was to question authority and avoid believing claims simply because they came from someone influential. She said, "Instagram and WhatsApp University often reshape opinions through misinformation, including false claims such as Tamil Nadu appointing its first woman minister only recently, despite women holding ministerial roles even before the Independence and under successive DMK governments."She said social media also spreads unverified advice on health, parenting, and lifestyle, and people often accept it blindly without checking qualifications or evidence.
