Take action to reduce fatal accidents: ADGP

Coimbatore: Additional director general of police (law and order) Vijay Kumar conducted a review meeting related to law and order and traffic at the office of the commissioner of police in the city on Monday. Coimbatore city police commissioner K Periaiah, Tirupur city police commissioner P Nagarajan, Salem city police commissioner K Shankar, inspector general of police (IGP –west zone) A Pari, Salem range DIG T Senthilkumar, deputy commissioners of police S Lakshmi, P Perumal, Sujitkumar, G Dharmarajan and Coimbatore district superintendent of police Pa Moorthy participated in the meeting.

Vijay Kumar ordered the officials to take appropriate action to reduce fatal accidents in the region. He instructed the officials to approach the regional transport authorities to take necessary steps against violators to temporarily suspend driving licenses.

Vijay Kumar told the police officers to immediately admit accident victims in hospitals and advised them to co-ordinate with all hospitals to provide immediate treatment to motorists or pedestrians who met with accidents. He told the police officers to make a separate lane on important roads for ambulances during emergency.
