Video of Tamil Nadu kid advising mom goes viral on social media
TIRUPUR: A video of a city-based four-year-old girl urging her mother to be kind and not to beat her if she does anything wrong has gone viral on social media.
P Smithika, 4, has become a hit on social media after her video went viral since last week. The video was captured by her mother in a cell phone. In the video, teary-eyed Smithika tells her mother: “If (we) do anything wrong, (please) do not beat me but kindly tell me not to do so, we will obey.” The video has become a topic for meme creators too.
Smithika, daughter of M Prakash, 31, and P Praveena, 23, is the resident of Mannarai in the dollar city. Prakash is operating an autorickshaw while Praveena is working in a nearby knitwear unit.
“Smithika is a talkative girl. She would always raise questions. We encourage her to continue to raise questions. Many relatives, friends and teachers would wonder about her fearless attitude,” Praveena said.
“Since my husband would be out of home for a long time due to his profession, he would not be able to spend time with Smithika. So, I started videographing her activities to show them to my husband, who would admire them and sometimes, he would discuss about it with the child,” she said.
“Two weeks ago, I shot one such video while warning her. She just replied that I should not beat her but kindly tell her not to do. I kept it as a status in WhatsApp. On seeing it, one of my friends kept the same as her status and then the video became viral on the social media including Facebook,” she added.
“We never expected such a fame, which was like once in a lifetime experience. Even though we informed about the popularity which she got, Smithika, who would often unravel words with utmost maturity, did not even care about it but entertain us with her childhood,” she said.
