A shocking video surfaced showing several labourers being swept away by the raging Tons river. The footage also showed a tractor stranded in the middle of the surging river, with labourers onboard pleading for help, while locals on the riverbank tried to figure out ways to rescue them. The downpour washed away a bridge and left many stranded, with reports of missing persons and one confirmed death in Mussoorie, officials said.

Three people were buried under debris in Dehradun's Sahastradhara area as a result of heavy rainfall that led to flooding in the area and caused severe damages to houses and properties across the State, authorities said on Tuesday. The rescue team of the district administration, including personnel from NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) and Police Department teams, rushed to the site and initiated the rescue operation. Ajay Pant, assistant commandant, NDRF, said, "As you can see, the situation is very bad due to cloudbursts. There has been a lot of damage to the house and properties. We got information that three people have been trapped in the debris. Search operation has to be stopped as debris and water are coming down from the hills..." The rescue team continued operation in Malnigad and Majad villages of the Sahastradhara area.

The Chief Minister stated that excessive rainfall has caused extensive damage to roads, bridges, and government property across different parts of the state, significantly impacting people's daily lives. He directed officials to ensure that blocked routes are reopened at the earliest and that the supply of safe drinking water and electricity is restored without delay.

Disaster Response personnel on Tuesday rescued a total of 100 students who were stranded after the Devbhoomi Institute campus located in Paunda area of Dehradun in Uttarakhand got waterlogged following heavy overnight rains.
Damage to roads, houses and other infrastructure were reported from several places of the state in the downpour. After receiving information about 200 students being stranded at the institute, rescue teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Corps rushed to the spot and pulled them out to safety. "The team reached the spot and conducted a quick rescue operation. Amidst the waterlogging, the team worked with utmost prudence and promptness and evacuated all 200 students safely and took them to a safe place," the SDRF said. Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today conducted an on-site inspection of ffected areas, including Sahastradhara, Raipur, and other localities in Dehradun that were impacted by the heavy rain.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescued three people after the Chandrabhaga River in Rishikesh district swelled following heavy rains since Tuesday morning, causing water to reach the highway and prompting authorities to urge residents to remain cautious near rivers and streams.
The SDRF team also cleared the road blocked due to a tree falling near Khara Srot in the Muni Ki Reti area in Tehri Garhwal district. Continuous rain led vehicles to get stuck due to debris on the road. The SDRF team reached the spot and ensured vehicles crossed safely.

According to the SDRF, the road was blocked due to a large tree falling ahead of PWD Tiraha, which the team cleared to restore traffic. "The road got blocked due to a lot of debris near Lemon Tree Hotel, where the road is being opened with a JCB. The team is keeping an eye on all possible places," the SDRF added.

A house in front has been completely buried, with cattle trapped underneath. In this area alone, there are about 50 houses, with another 50 just ahead. Now, everything has been destroyed. Several casualties have been reported.”

Himachal Pradesh Rains: Himachal Pradesh's monsoon devastation has claimed 404 lives since June 20, with the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) confirming on Sunday that 229 deaths occurred in rain-related incidents and 175 in road accidents, as per SDMA report on Monday.
