Five poachers sent to judicial custody

Dehradun: The forest team of Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve nabbed five poachers on Sunday, who were presented before the court in Joshimath on Monday. All five poachers, including daily wagers from Nepal, were sent to fourteen days of

judicial custody

They were caught from a reserved forest area of Karok area of Lata village. Vijay Lal Arya, the forest authority in Karok area, said that all the five men were found in possession of body parts of musk deers and blue sheeps along with other equipment which they used for poaching. A case has been lodged against them under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972.
