NAINITAL: The vacation bench of the Uttarakhand high court (HC) heard the bail application of Hakam Singh Rawat, the main accused in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) paper leak case, and asked the state government to submit their reply within three weeks.
In 2016, Hakam Singh Rawat, with help of many others, allegedly leaked question papers of the Village Panchayat Development Officer (VPDO) exam conducted by UKSSSC at various examination centres in Uttarakhand and many districts of UP.
Based on a complaint, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) registered a case at the Raipur police station in Dehradun. In the investigation, much evidence was found against Rawat in the paper leak case, based on which the SIT arrested him on August 14 last year.
The single bench of vacation judge justice Alok Kumar Verma has set the next date of hearing after three weeks.
