CM Dhami thanks Rajnath for inaugurating 9 BRO projects to ‘transform state’s landscape’

Dehradun: Union defence minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated 75 infrastructure projects by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on Saturday, nine of which are in Uttarakhand. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked Singh, and said these projects will uplift remote and underprivileged areas in the state.
The inaugurated projects include bridges at Karchha, Bheeng Gadera, Ghastoli, and Pagal Nala in the Garhwal region, and at Surangighat, Chimla, Painagad, and Ghosigad in the Kumaon region. The construction of offices and residences for the Shivalik Project in Dehradun was also among the projects inaugurated by the defence minister.
"These projects will help transform the state's landscape by enhancing connectivity and promoting socio-economic development. They will not only boost tourism and the local economy but also create important employment opportunities," Dhami said. He added, "The projects will accelerate the development of vibrant village communities and improve access to remote border areas, strengthening both economic growth and defence capabilities in these strategically important locations."
The CM said that the new bridges will reduce travel time and promote tourism. "This will promote cultural exchange to establish Uttarakhand as a major tourist destination and foster long-term sustainable development and prosperity for the region," he added.
