Akshay Saini, in his post, emphasised that switching jobs is the only way to significantly increase one's salary, especially for those who started their career as a software engineer with a low package.

Saini criticized the internal appraisal and promotion systems in most Indian companies, calling them "a joke" and "very low and broken".

He urged employees who feel underpaid to consider changing jobs without hesitation, stating that "If you're underpaid, don't overthink, just Switch!".

"If you start with a low salary, switching jobs gets you much more salary hikes!" Saini wrote, highlighting the importance of job-hopping for those seeking substantial pay raises. However, he also cautioned against switching jobs purely out of greed, advising people to make the move only if they genuinely believe they are being underpaid.

A user commented on Saini's post, 'True. I switched a job in 6 months. Reached 6.5LPA. Now, switching again after 45 days. Expecting 9.6LPA. God has been gracious.'

While another user commented, 'At least every 2 years, you should get interviewed and get an offer; this will help you to understand yourself and your skills demand at the current rate and ask your existing org to match. If they do, works for both,” suggested a fourth.'??

Several commenters echoed Saini's sentiment that salary is as important as good work, while others suggested regularly interviewing for new positions to gauge one's market value and negotiate with their current employer accordingly. The post has sparked a lively discussion on the importance of job mobility and fair compensation in the Indian job market.
