The three accused, Udit Chaddha, Sohail Ahmed and Raghav Gupta, all natives of Jammu, launched an advertisement company, through which they offered an attractive buy-a-car-and-advertise scheme. “Under the offered scheme, the customers were supposed to pay only 20 per cent down payment for the new car and rest of the amount was promised to be paid by the company against displaying advertisements on the new vehicle for next five years,” said Arun Mohan Joshi, Dehradun SSP.

Complainant Ehsaan Ahmed said the accused also promised him and other victims to pay Rs 11,000 as a booking fee for the new vehicle. However, when he reached the company’s office, the office was locked and the mobile numbers were all switched off.
