NEW DELHI: Two women were reportedly assaulted, with one of them tied to an electricity pole, in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district.
The incident, which occurred in Dabra town on Tuesday evening, stemmed from a dispute over vacating a property, according to the police.
Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the matter, officials said on Wednesday.
A purported video of the assault has surfaced on social media, further drawing attention to the incident.
The police were informed that some women had been attacked following a disagreement.
Upon reaching the scene, officers found one woman tied to an electricity pole, while another was lying on the ground, according to Dabra police station in-charge, Yashwant Goyal.
The woman tied to the pole alleged that Vijay Agrawal and his associates had assaulted them over a longstanding dispute regarding the vacating of a house. She also claimed their belongings had been forcibly thrown out, the official said.
The police have registered a case against 14 individuals, including Agrawal, and have so far arrested four of the accused. Efforts are underway to trace the remaining suspects, the official added.
