NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has approached the
Delhi high court seeking protection of her personality rights and an injunction against the unauthorised use of her name, photographs and AI-generated pornographic content.
On Tuesday, Justice Tejas Karia orally indicated that he would pass an ad-interim order cautioning the defendants.
Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing Rai, argued that the actor wanted to enforce her publicity and personality rights after completely fabricated intimate photographs began circulating online.
"There can be no right in their favour to use her images, likeness or persona. A gentleman is collecting money merely by putting my name and face," Sethi said.
"Her name and likeness is being used to satisfy someone's sexual desires. This is very unfortunate," he added.
Rai was also represented by advocates Pravin Anand and Dhruv Anand.
The court has listed the matter for further proceedings before the joint registrar on 7 November and for a hearing on 15 January 2026.
