Manish Sisodia
Former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, implicated in the excise policy scam, finds himself confined in a Tihar prison cell in connection with a money laundering case. A prominent figure within the AAP, Sisodia previously served as the deputy chief minister and held various portfolios, including the Excise Department, in the Arvind Kejriwal government. He was arrested by the CBI in February.
Satyendar Jain
Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain was arrested by the ED in connection with a money laundering case. Jain, who handled several important portfolios in the AAP government, including jail, till his arrest in a separate money laundering case in May 2022, was accused of running a high-profile extortion racket from Tihar Jail.
Sanjay Singh
Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh was arrested by the anti-money laundering agency on October 4 last year. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has accused him of playing a significant role in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy, which has since been scrapped. The ED alleges that Singh benefited certain liquor manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers in exchange for financial gains.
K Kavitha
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha, embroiled in a money laundering case linked to Delhi's excise policy, saw her judicial custody extended by 14 days until April 9 by the Rouse Avenue Court. Kavitha has been held since March 15, adding to the growing list of politicians entangled in legal battles.
