Atishi unveils state-of-the-art govt school in Kirari
NEW DELHI: Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, Chief Minister Atishi on Monday unveiled a govt school in Prem Nagar in the Kirari assembly constituency—an area that she claimed, "has moved beyond the era of backwardness and informal settlements".
The 72-room school features 37 classrooms, eight high-tech labs, a library, elevator service, and other modern facilities.
Hailing the development as a sign of progress, Atishi said, "Kirari, once considered underdeveloped, is now a symbol of transformation. Residents from Poorvanchal, who once lived in unauthorised colonies, now have access to modern infrastructure, including schools for their children."
Atishi hailed the development as a sign of progress, remarking, "Kirari, once considered underdeveloped, is now a symbol of transformation. Residents from Poorvanchal, who once lived in unauthorised colonies, now have access to modern infrastructure, including schools for their children."
Highlighting the school's advanced facilities, Atishi said, "This government school surpasses even private institutions, offering labs, a library, and an elevator service for the students."
She also recalled her visit to Kirari in 2015-16 when local MLA Rituraj Jha informed her of the challenges faced by students, including crossing railway lines to attend schools in distant areas. "The schools in the constituency were in the Nithari area. So, the children had to cross the railway line to Mundka, Paschim Vihar, Nangloi, and Nithari," she said, praising Jha and the residents for their persistent efforts, including taking legal steps to acquire land from the DDA for the school.
On the occasion, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal posted on X, "Our mission to take education to new heights in Delhi continues. Today, another government school has opened in Kirari, embodying the dreams of our children."
