NEW DELHI:
Delhi BJP
on Tuesday started its campaign to clear doubts of farmers with a meeting organised in Najafgarh where
MP Parvesh Sahib Singh
, Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta, leader of Opposition Ramvir Bidhuri and others spoke on the laws and explained their benefits to the farmers.
“Congress ruled the country for six decades, but it did not take any steps in the interest of the farmers, instead exploited them in collusion with the middlemen. PM Modi has pledged to work towards doubling the income of farmers and has taken steps towards this direction. The Congress government’s agricultural budget used to be a maximum of 16-17 thousand crore, but under the Modi government, this budget has been increased to 1.34 lakh crore,” said Gupta.
MP Parvesh Sahib Singh said that under the new farm laws, the MSP scheme and the mandi system would continue. He took a swipe at chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and asked how many times the CM visited the villages and met the farmers.
Bidhuri said with the introduction of the farm laws, farmers would connect with new techniques and employment opportunities would increase.
