New Delhi: Delhi govt has established the Board of Homeopathic System of Medicine to strengthen policymaking and promote alternative medicine in the capital. The board will be chaired by Dr Anil Goyal who is the BJP MLA from Krishna Nagar constituency in east Delhi.
“In exercise of powers conferred under sub-section (2) of Section 3 of the Delhi Homoeopathic Act, 1956 (Delhi Act No 11 of 1956) read with the Delhi Homoeopathic (Amendment) Act 1996 (Delhi Act no 11 of 1996), the Lt. governor of Delhi is pleased to establish the Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine, Delhi,” said a notification issued by the govt.
The board of homoeopathic medicine is a statutory body constituted under the provisions of Delhi Homoeopathic Act, 1956, and it plays a key role in regulating and promoting the practice of homoeopathy in the city. Entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring professional standards, the Board deals with the registration of qualified homoeopathic practitioners and maintains the official State Register of Homoeopathic Practitioners.
