BJP targets AAP over 'extortion'; AAP hits back

NEW DELHI: BJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma on Tuesday reiterated his allegation that AAP functionaries were extorting money from vendors at weekly markets.

He showed a purported video at a press conference to claim that a person with affiliations to AAP was extorting money. "Where does this money go? AAP should answer this," he said. Verma said he had also complained to the police about this. A senior AAP functionary rubbished the allegation and said the party would file a defamation case on the issue.

A few weeks ago, AAP had sent a legal notice to Verma, demanding an apology for levying allegations of extortion against its functionaries.
