The chosen bungalow is situated in close proximity to the AAP headquarters at Ravi Shankar Shukla lane (Canning Lane). Kejriwal had also considered the official bungalow of MP ND Gupta at 10 Feroz Shah Road, but ultimately opted for the residence of party MP Ashok Mittal.

In a statement, AAP said, "Arvind Kejriwal will move to the bungalow allotted to party MP, Ashok Mittal at 5, Ferozshah Road."

The former chief minister is expected to vacate his current official residence on Friday.

The Aam Aadmi Party had announced on Wednesday that Kejriwal and his family will be relocating to the new residence within the next few days.

Following his resignation as the chief minister last month, Kejriwal had expressed his intention to vacate the official Flagstaff Road residence during the Navratri period.

He had also conveyed his preference to reside within his New Delhi assembly constituency of New Delhi.

In September, the AAP had made a request to the central government to provide Kejriwal with an official residence, citing his position as the head of a national party.

Notably, on September 17, Kejriwal tendered his resignation as chief minister to Delhi LG VK Saxena, following which Atishi was chosen as his successor days after the AAP chief was released on bail from Tihar jail in the excise policy case.
