CBSE eases process to get lost papers

NEW DELHI: The new certification system of CBSE will not only benefit its present but also past students within the country and abroad.

The board will do away with multiple layers of the present application process and provide a much faster and low-cost system.

People will no more have to travel or courier drafts and applications to get lost or misplaced certificates or other documents. “One can now apply for the certificate in any regional offices,” said

In case of urgent requirement, one can download the documents from the digital locker, which was introduced this year with the batch 2015-16, he added.

The board, in a phased manner, will put out certificates of previous years online that will be accessible to all. “It will have digitally verified signature, which will be as good as a true copy. There will be

encrypted QR code, which is the safety mechanism against tampering,” the chairman added.

CBSE is even planning to bring down the cost of the duplicate certificate and introduce an online payment mode. Another major step underway is to ease the process of authentication. Any organisation seeking verification of marks or certificates or even date of birth will be able to do so. All they need to do is to register online. Candidates will get updates on the status via email/ SMS or both.
