We told you a few days ago that Daniel Craig was headed to Delhi, not for any film-related work, but to be the star attraction at a charity football match between

Bollywood

celebs and members of Parliament, scheduled for June 11 at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium. Team Bollywood is supposed to include Ranbir Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and Arjun Kapoor, while the Parliamentarians’ team is to be led by Babul Supriyo and Manoj Tiwari, with PM Narendra Modi and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as the chief guests.

However, it has now been learnt that the match has been postponed due to “unforeseen reasons”. According to members of the organisation spearheading the initiative, “The football match is not taking place on June 11, and we are working on other dates now. We will make a formal announcement on it soon and will then also share the reasons why it has been postponed. One of the reasons is that the ground is not ready for the match, it has some defects. It will take 10-15 days to improve the conditions of the ground, which we are working on. Also, we realised that high levels of fitness are required for the game and we may need to have a few more training sessions with the politicians.”

Sources say that Daniel Craig has been apprised of the development. “He is not coming on June 10, and organisers are working out new dates. His confirmation will be awaited for the new dates,” says a source.

Both the teams have been practising regularly for the match. Supriyo confirmed that the match has been postponed, and said, “Bunty Walia (from the

All Stars Football Club

(ASFC)) informed me on Wednesday that the match has been postponed. I don’t have any information on when they are planning
to reschedule the match, and I have no idea why the organisers decided to reschedule it.”
