Officials revealed that the metro system will extend its operating hours by approximately 30 minutes for all its lines, except one, to ensure a smooth commute for attendees.

"In preparation for the Cricket World Cup 2023 matches, both day and night fixtures, set to take place on the 7th, 11th, 15th, 25th October, and 6th November 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium (Ferozeshah Kotla Grounds) in New Delhi, the Delhi Metro has implemented slight adjustments to its final train schedules across all lines (excluding the Airport Express Line)," PTI quoted the DMRC as announcing in a statement.

The former stadium is located in close proximity to the Delhi Gate Metro station along the Violet Line, which spans from Kashmere Gate station to Raja Nahar Singh station.

To accommodate the anticipated surge of passengers at the nearby metro stations following the conclusion of the match, the Delhi Metro has announced plans to operate additional train services, approximately 24 in total.

These extended services will extend the last train timings by approximately 30 minutes across all metro lines.

This proactive measure aims to ensure that spectators can conveniently reach their destinations using the Metro system.

In addition to extending the train timings, the DMRC will bolster its manpower by deploying extra personnel and Customer Facilitation Agents (CFA) at the Delhi Gate Metro station.

This measure is intended to efficiently manage the increased influx of spectators on match day.
