NEW DELHI: Special Cell of the Delhi Police on Monday arrested a wanted accused from Telangana's Meerpet in connection with the murder case of intelligence bureau (IB) staffer Ankit Sharma.

The accused, identified as Munjtajim, was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000.

Earlier police had arrested seven accused in connection with Sharma’s murder, including suspended AAP councillor Tahir Hussain.


The IB official was murdered during North-East Delhi violence in 2020.

Sharma was found dead in a drain near his home in Chand Bagh area. His family had accused Hussain and his associates of killing him. On the complaint of Sharma’s father, police registered an FIR against Hussain.
