Delhi air quality expected to worsen

Delhi's air quality remained in the 'poor' category for the fifth consecutive day on Friday, and is expected to worsen due to unfavorable weather conditions, according to monitoring agencies. At 9 am, the city's average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 256.

Delhi AQI in 'very poor' category

Several areas reported an AQI in the 'very poor' category. On Thursday at 4 pm, Delhi's 24-hour average AQI was 256, while it was 243 on Wednesday and 220 on Tuesday.

Delhi air quality prediction

NDMC has also deployed monitoring and checking teams. The Centre's Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi predicts that the air quality in the city is likely to deteriorate to the 'very poor' category on Saturday.

Delhi's bad air

​The air quality index is measured on a scale of 0 to 500, with an AQI between zero and 50 considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
