Four injured in Nabi Karim LPG fire; basement blaze erupts in Humayunpur
New Delhi: Two separate fire-related incidents were reported in the city on Thursday, leaving four people injured in one of the cases.
The first incident occurred in central Delhi’s Nabi Karim, where four people suffered injuries after a fire broke out while an LPG cylinder was being replaced at a tea stall operating from a small room. Police said a PCR call was received at 9.29 am.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that Sarita, 35, who runs the tea stall, asked a man, Krishna, 37, to change the cylinder. While the regulator was being opened, a sudden fire erupted, injuring Sarita, Krishna, a customer, Ajay, 19, and Zafir, 35, a passer-by. All were rushed to RML Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
In a separate incident, a fire broke out in the locked basement of a building in Humayunpur village, near Safdarjung Enclave. The basement, which earlier housed a café and is now used as a storage space, caught fire around 7.06 pm. No injuries were reported. A short circuit is suspected, said police.
