NEW DELHI: Surendra Kumar of the Aam Aadmi Party has won with 80,504 votes, defeating Praveen Nimesh of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who secured 72,297 votes—a margin of 8,207 votes. Ishwar Singh of the Indian National Congress finished third with 5,905 votes.

Gokalpur is a legislative assembly constituency in the North East Delhi district. It is one of the 70 assembly constituencies in Delhi and falls under the North East Delhi Parliamentary seat.

In the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections for Gokalpur, the candidates were Surendra Kumar from AAP, Praveen Nimesh from BJP, Ishwar Bagri from INC, and Jagdish Bhagat from NCP.

In the 2020 Assembly Election, AAP's Surendra Kumar won with 88,452 votes (53.2%), followed by BJP's Ranjeet Singh, who secured 68,964 votes (41.5%). Surendra Kumar defeated Ranjeet Singh by a margin of 19,488 votes.

In 2015, Gokalpur legislative assembly constituency had a total of 197,112 electors. The total number of valid votes was 146,240. Aam Aadmi Party candidate Fateh Singh emerged victorious, securing 71,240 votes (48.7%), while BJP's Ranjeet Singh came second with 39,272 votes (26.8%), losing by a margin of 31,968 votes.

In 2013, Gokalpur had a total of 178,740 electors and 128,054 valid votes. BJP's Ranjeet Singh won with 34,888 votes (27.2%), while Independent candidate Surendra Kumar secured 32,966 votes (25.8%), losing by a margin of 1,922 votes.
