NEW DELHI: A gang was busted and four people, including a woman, were arrested for allegedly honey-trapping people on the pretext of giving massage.
Police said the accused used to pose as police officers and NGO members and threatened to implicate the victims in fake cases. Cops suspect they had already duped more than 50 people.
The accused were identified as Sunny Suneja, who posed as a sub-inspector, Mohammad Shafiq who posed as an NGO member, Deepak Budhiraja, driver, and Hemlata, owner of a beauty parlour in Burari. Earlier also Hemlata had been arrested for extortion. DCP (Shahdara) Rohit Meena said on January 29, they received a complaint from a 46-year-old resident of Shahdara. “The complainant had befriended a woman after calling a number given on a social networking site,” an officer said.
