India Mango Festival organised by Ramesh Awasthi becomes the talk of the town in the national capital

The 16th India Mango Festival was recently held in Delhi. The festival showcased over 300 varieties of mangoes, making it a delightful experience for visitors. This is considered to be the biggest festival in India. Talking about the fest, Ramesh Awasthi (Chairman, National Media Club) said, “The mango is not just a delicious fruit; it is also a symbol of good luck and prosperity in our country. It is an important part of various customs and traditions across India. I am happy to announce the 2024 India Mango Festival will be held in Dubai, UAE.”

“The festival was inaugurated by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, and the exhibition was inaugurated by Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Purushottam Bhai Rupala. The event was attended by 14 ambassadors from different countries, 16 union ministers and more than 135 Members of Parliament from different parties. Their participation highlighted the festival’s aim to promote India’s diverse mango varieties worldwide,” the organisers said.


The presence of foreign guests from 14 countries, including Russia, Africa, Fiji and Nepal, added a global dimension to the event. The festival was attended by Farooq Abdullah, Digvijay Singh, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Ram Niwas Goyal, Shashi Tharoor and cabinet ministers like Mahendra Nath Pandey, Purushottam Rupala, Arjun Munda, Ramdas Athawale, Ashwani Choubey, Ajay Bhatt, SP Singh Baghel, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Renuka Singh Saruta, Debu Singh Chauhan, Mahendra Bhai Munjapara, A Narayan Swami, Rameshwar Teli, Shantanu Thakur, John Barla as well as dignitaries from different government sectors along with social activists, media personalities, bureaucrats and senior law officers. This dynamic blend of attendees transforms the event into a unique gathering of the nation's
elite, creating a convergence that reflected the festival's significance.

The festival witnessed the presence of actors like Mahima Chaudhary, Preeti Jhangiani, Rajpal Yadav, Gulshan Grover, Raza Murad, Vindu Dara Singh, among others. The organisers added, “The guests, including the actors, indulged in tasting various mango varieties, mango shakes, and mango ice creams.”

Talking about the Modi mango variety that was on display at the fest, Ramesh Awasthi said, “This variety is a symbol of our country’s agricultural prowess and innovation. The India Mango Festival is an annual celebration dedicated to the country’s most beloved fruit, the mango. Through the celebration of this festival, we seek to raise awareness about the importance of mangoes in India’s culture and promote its rich diversity.”

Talking about the festival, Rajyasabha Mp Baburam Nishad said, “India Mango Festival, which has been organised from the last 16 years, started in Kanpur. This festival has become an unparalleled platform that transcends political boundaries, setting a benchmark for unity and camaraderie”

Cabinet Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey said, “The India Mango Festival organised by Ramesh Awasthi every year is not only a celebration of the National Fruit Mango, but also stands as a symbol of political harmony, cultural pride, and a commitment to the well-being of Mango farmers.” The festival also honoured mango farmers of the country. The festival extends a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to these unsung heroes.
