KMC goes to Mumbai to raise funds for audi, meets alumni Big B, directors

’s auditorium isn’t breaking news to anyone in DU. It has seen the debut of many members of Players – KMC’s theatre society – who went on to make a name for themselves in the film industry. , went to Mumbai to meet Amitabh Bachchan, Satish Kaushik and Sushant Singh, and directors Ali Abbas Zafar, Habib Faisal and Vijay Krishna Acharya, all ex-players, to raise funds for the audi.

Khattar, along with Keval Arora, the staff advisor of Players, and Samir Singh, co-convener of the Alumni Committee, met Bachchan, Kaushik and Singh to raise funds for the Frank Thakurdas Memorial Auditorium, which has been in a shambles for more than a decade now. About the meeting with Bachchan, which happened in his office, Khattar told us, "It was a successful meeting, we met Amitabh Bachchan along with Satish Kaushik, Keval Arora and Sushant Singh. He (Bachchan) said that he wishes to attend the college’s alumni meet in February as a student. He also said that we’ll all work together to raise funds for the auditorium."

Keval Arora added, "We didn’t just meet those in the film industry. We also met alumni who are part of the bureaucracy, like Deven Bharti, Joint CP, Mumbai Police, and businessmen. The response was very encouraging, I think the construction work should start very soon." The team also met three directors. 'Satish pointed out that out of the five directors working with Yash Raj Films, four are from Players – Kabir Khan, Ali Abbas Zafar, Habib Faisal and Vijay Krishna Acharya. Kabir couldn’t come, but we met the other three," Arora added.
