NEW DELHI: Karnataka minister, B. Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan, stated on Saturday that the Lokayukta police investigating a disproportionate assets case have summoned him.
Khan told PTI that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had previously conducted a raid against him regarding the same case. Subsequently, the ED transferred the matter to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which then handed it over to the Lokayukta.
"It's a routine notice. There's nothing new in it," Khan said.
Sources reveal that the ED's raid on Khan in August 2021 occurred during their investigation of the IMA Ponzi scam.
Following the raid, the ED shared materials related to the disproportionate assets case with the ACB. With the ACB no longer functioning, the Lokayukta received the case for further investigation.
