NEW DELHI: A fire broke out at a stone market in Kotla Mubarakpur early Wednesday, gutting at least six shops housed in tin-shed kiosks, officials said.
Fire services deployed nine fire tenders to the location when the fire was reported at 4:08 am, and they successfully contained the blaze by 6:15 am, according to a fire official.
The incident resulted in no reported injuries or loss of life.
The fire damaged multiple retail establishments, including those selling clothing, tarpaulin sheets, stationery products and cosmetics.
Initial investigations point towards an electrical short-circuit as the potential cause of the fire, though authorities are still working to confirm the exact source, the official stated.
