NEW DELHI: Delhi's deputy CM Manish Sisodia rode a bicycle to commute to work while chief minister Arvind Kejriwal carpooled with health minister Satyendar Jain to reach the CM office on the first day of odd-even vehicle rationing scheme on Monday.

Transport minister Kailash Gahlot shared car with his OSD to come to office.

"Carpooling today with my cabinet colleagues because my car has an odd number. Health minister Satyendra Jain has an even number vehicle," Kejriwal stated on social media. He asked people whether they are also carpooling or taking public transport.

The CM said that he is getting fantastic response from the people of Delhi for the odd-even rule and urged people to do their bit.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia reached office on a bicycle

Several Delhi government bureaucrats also carpooled or hired app-based taxis to reach office. The scheme will be in force till November 15 thus all ministers and CM will be using alternate modes of transport or carpooling to reach office.

On even days only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers are allowed and on odd days vehicles with odd numbers are allowed.
