NEW DELHI: The police have got three-day custody of

Pankaj Mehra

, since the weapon with which he killed his wife has not been recovered yet, said deputy commissioner of police (north west), Milind Dumbere, adding that they have formed 11 teams to find the weapon.

The police said that they are also trying to trace his lover, Aiysha, and make her confront Mehra to unearth the "deep-rooted" conspiracy.

However, Mehra's lawyers S P Sharma and Sanjay Sharma opposed the remand plea arguing that he had already been in custody for six days and there was nothing incriminating that had emerged.

The court after hearing the arguments thought it necessary to grant three days custody while posting the hearing for November 2.

Priya Mehra

was shot dead in the early hours on October 24 in northwest Delhi's Shalimar Bagh while she was returning from Bangla Sahib Gurdwara with her husband, Pankaj Mehra, and two-year-old child.
