BJP'Sanjay Goyal has won the Shahadra seat by over 5000 votes.
Shahdara is one of Delhi’s 70 assembly constituencies, situated in the Shahdara district and falling under the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.

For the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP fielded Jitender Singh Shunty looking to retain its dominance on the seat, while BJP nominated Sanjay Goyal.

Congress put forward Jagat Singh as its candidate.

As per the 2011 census estimates cited by the State Election Commission, Shahdara has a population of 2,15,849, with Scheduled Castes (SC) making up 18.26 per cent of the demographic. There is no Scheduled Tribe (ST) population recorded in the constituency.

In the 2020 assembly elections, AAP’s Ram Niwas Goel won the Shahdara seat with 62,103 votes, securing 49.53 per cent of the total vote share. He defeated BJP’s Sanjay Goyal, who garnered 56,809 votes (45.31 per cent). The winning margin stood at 5,294 votes, accounting for 4.23 per cent of the total votes cast, reaffirming AAP’s dominance in the constituency.

The 2025 Delhi assembly elections was conducted in a single phase on February 5, with results to be declared on February 8.
