South Delhi businessman shot dead: 69 bullets found inside body
NEW DELHI: The investigation into the murder of a dairy businessman, identified as Ratan, in south Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri has revealed that the shooters travelled from Faridabad and waited at the scene for nearly half an hour before opening fire.
Sixty-nine bullets were found inside body.
Police sources said 12 to 13 people are suspected to be involved in the killing. Investigators are also probing the possible role of a relative of a man allegedly killed by Ratan’s son in May.
Family describes brutal ambush
Ratan’s family said he was on his way to his dairy in Aya Nagar on November 30 when he was ambushed and more than 70 rounds were fired.
“After the May incident, Ratan received regular death threats. He told me he was going to the dairy and within 10 minutes, he was brutally killed,” said Ram Kumar, Ratan’s brother.
Another relative, Dharmender, added that the attackers conducted reconnaissance before the murder. “We came to know they arrived in a car and a motorcycle and kept moving around the area while waiting for their target,” he said.
Possible link to family feud and land dispute
Ratan’s family claims the killing is linked to a land dispute between two families, which escalated after Ratan’s son, Deepak, allegedly murdered a man six months ago. Deepak was arrested in that case.
A senior police officer said the murder appears to be connected to a personal rivalry, though all angles remain under investigation.
Police continue investigation
No arrests have been made so far. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to identify all those involved in the premeditated attack.
