Nishant Kaushik, who allegedly followed the woman in his car in Indirapuram for around 50 minutes, passed lewd comments and touched her inappropriately last Friday, has been asked not to leave the country and cooperate in the police investigation. His lawyer Yogender, however, declined to speak to the media.
The journalist, who had come to India two months ago along with her sister to cover the Lok Sabha polls, has now decided to return to the US. The two sisters had been staying on rent in a flat in Indirapuram since January. Meanwhile, taking cognisance of reports on the alleged molestation, the National Women’s Commission on Tuesday wrote to SSP Upendra Kumar Agrawal and urged him to take “strict” and “immediate action” against the
“Considering the gravity of the matter, it is requested that a detailed action-taken report in the matter be sent to the commission by e-mail or fax,” she wrote.
Nishant, who was arrested on Friday night after being caught by guards of the housing society where the woman stays, has been slapped charges under IPC sections 354 D (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).

Court should not have given bail to such a man. Mostly such people become even more dangerous to to the victim and feel emboldened to commit more such crime. Some judges are also corrupt. Many lawyers are experts in arranging bail for criminals.Read allPost comment
