Court acquits man of attempt to murder

Colva: The additional sessions court of South Goa has acquitted a man charged with an attempt to murder by giving him a benefit of doubt as all eight witnesses, including the victim, did not identify the assailant.

Mohammad Sharif was arrested on Jan 1, 2022, accused of a knife attack on Mohammad Shaikh.

“The only incriminating evidence against the accused was the arrest panchnama with the prosecution making a case that he had handed over a knife to the police during the arrest
,” additional sessions judge Pooja Kavlekar said in the order acquitting Sharif. tnn
