Residents of Vailankanni Apartments and Carl Centre, located near the Old Goa police station, have complained about the obstruction of footpaths and access to their residences by the stalls. They have pointed to the disruptions to their daily routine, parking difficulties, and potential health hazards caused by the unsanitary conditions.

They have said that despite repeated appeals to the Old Goa panchayat, their concerns have been ignored.

“The hawkers have no legal permission. They stay outside our premises, litter the place, dry their clothes, and go to answer nature’s call around our premises. The panchayat or whoever organises the fair does not provide any facilities for water, toilets, or bathing. There are no supervisors either,” the residents have added.
