Sailor’s body to be flown from Antigua

GOA: The mortal remains of Conceicao Silva, who was found dead onboard a cruise ship on February 15, while it was sailing in the Carribean, are expected to be dispatched to Goa this weekend, after his family approached the

NRI commission

and asked for assistance.

The body of the deceased has been preserved at the funeral morgue at Antigua. The

NRI

commission has written to the high commission of Georgetown, Guyana, West Indies, asking it to get in touch with

Costa Magica

to complete all legal formalities and facilitate the transportation of the mortal remains of the deceased to Goa at the earliest, to enable the family to perform the funeral rites in Goa.

The high commission is assisting in the repatriation of his mortal remains with the help of the

Antigua Cruise Association
